Themed Pathways

One of the main aims of the CDD website is to provide you with information on our progress in implementing PAT 15 recommendations for closing the digital divide.

We call the idea "Themed Pathways". You could also see it as a simple and effective way of mining the wealth of information available on this site according to one of 13 separate themes, each a part of the Government strategy to ensure ICT access is available in disadvantaged communities to all who need it.

Here is a list of the 12 themes in alphabetical order. Each one deals with a distinct area of activity relevant to the Government strategy. So whether you're looking for the latest research available on Black and Ethnic Minority Groups or a case study that offers valuable insight into the task of developing learning content in poor communities, click on one of the themes that interests you. You'll then find a menu of key areas within that theme allowing you easy access to all the information we have that's relevant to that theme.

Hawkesley, Pool Farm & Primrose Hill

BVSC Logo

Hawkesley, Pool Farm and Primrose Hill are three interconnected estates on the margins of South Birmingham. Crime, poor housing stock and other environmental conditions have resulted in a high rate of housing turnover and family mobility. This in turn has destabilised the local community and further depressed local conditions. [more]
